Subang Jaya & TM's Highspeed Broadband (HSBB) service

Residents of Subang Jaya (together with Taman Tun Dr Ismail & Bangsar of Kuala Lumpur) now enjoying broadband speeds of 10 Mbps and above under the HSBB project - newly launched by Telekom Malaysia, TM Berhad. This is a public-private partnership between TM and the Government, and they could have spent /will spend billions of RM now and future. Don't have the details, if wish to share please comment.

TM launches high-speed broadband service

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) launched its “UniFi” next-generation High Speed Broadband (HSBB) service in Dataran Merdeka, last night.The new service promises a world of faster, richer and more reliable online experience for users.

Present at the launch were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin and TM chairman Datuk Dr Halim Shafie.Speaking at the launch, Najib said HSBB need to be comprehended and embraced for the benefit of everyone.

“Apart from providing quality supply and service, we need to tell the people that this is for their advantage.

"Public education is important to spur demand so that results can be seen.

“HSBB is a key enabler to transform Malaysia as a middle-income nation to a high-income nation. It will make Malaysia a 21st century nation."

Najib said the HSBB will be a catalyst to grow the country’s economy, increasing Malaysia’s competitiveness, giving confidence to foreign investors, developing creative and innovative minds, and disseminating knowledge.A flagship project of the National Broadband Initiative, HSBB aims to boost the country’s competitiveness.

The national project worth RM11.3bil is a joint effort between TM and the government to develop the next generation high speed broadband infrastructure and services.
