Don't "Talk" To Strangers -- Alert & Careful

(Received a few emails from a friend and her SJ Alert Group which i must blog. Target area - Subang Jaya, Subang Jaya and Subang Jaya)

My office situated in USJ 9 was visited by an Indian man who prentended to be a staff fr the landlord office.
The Indian man approched my staff to check the laminated floor warranty and condition of the office. The main door was left open without my staff realised it. As my staff accompany the man to check around, the partner came in and took away 2 notebooks and a handphone.
The incident happened very fast. This can be prevented if the staff use his common sense, be more alert and careful.

A similar episod happened in a SS19 office last year. 2 Indians came to my client's office with a very big box. They knew he was not in and told his secretarythat they are from a cargo company and that the boss had informed them to place this very valuable packagein his room. The secretary opened the boss room and while they were in, one of they gave her a delivery order form to chop & Sign. ** Her Mistake : She should have called her Boss and checked **** As she walked out to her table to chop and sign, they quickly grabbed her boss's Apple computer worth Rm7000/- and a few expensive items on his table and walked out cooly. Later in the afternoon, when her boss returned, she informed him about the box and than realised that they were thieves and took note of the missing items from her boss. Advise : Tell your staff, maid or family members, never to allow strangers into your house or office, he can be from TNB or Telekom , don't open the door until you are sure of them. Call the police if they insist on coming in. This modus operandi has been used many times and gullible people had been fooled.
B - SMART, B - ALERT, B - SAFE

Talk about the incident of the loss of notebook, this incident happened last year in my area where I am working in Klang, Bukit Raja Estate. Seems that the photostating so called "technician" came during lunch time to do servicing at several offices around the area and several laptops were loss during the lunch time when they came as all the Managers room were open during the lunch time and no office staff were around. So beware......

Carpet cleaners’ empty office of laptops By TEOH EL SEN March 12, 2009

THREE men cleaned up an office in Kelana Jaya of eight laptops during lunch hour last Friday, after conning their way in as carpet cleaners.
A source told Malay Mail that the three, whose actions were later seen on CCTV footage (see sequence pictures), simply walked into the office building in Plaza Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, and stayed for more than two hours before making their move.
“They introduced themselves at the office building as carpet cleaners hired by the boss. A receptionist called the human resource unit to get confirmation but was told otherwise.
“She then asked them to leave.
However, after that, they went down to another floor of the same office and told the staff there thatHR had sent them to clean the carpets,” said the source.
This time they managed to gain entry.
The three later cleaned the carpets until lunchtime when all the employees left, except for one.
The thieves then told the last worker that the cleansing chemical smelt bad and requested the employee to leave the room accompanied by one of the accomplices.
Moving quickly, the other two then took all eight laptops in five minutes.
According to sources, on the same day, another commercial building in PJ was hit in the same manner, with five laptops among other valuable items stolen from the office.
Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said there had been several similar cases in the district and police had made arrests before.
It is understood that areas in Subang, Petaling Jaya and Kelana Jaya have been hit by the same gang or one with a similar modus operandi.
On Feb 14, China Press reported that three men, believed to be from the same gang, had gone into an office in Subang, claiming to be there to repair the airconditioner.
They convinced the employees to leave the office, saying the air-con was releasing poisonous gas, and stole seven laptops.

Reminds me to DIO - Don't Talk To Strangers --- (after filtered)
.
Don't talk to strangers
Cause they're only there to do you harm
Don't write in starlight
'Cause the words may come out real
Don't hide in doorways
You may find the key that opens up your soul
.
Don't smell the flowers
They're an evil drug to make you loose your mind
Don't dream of women
'Cause they'll only bring you down
.
I'm danger, I'm the stranger
And I, I'm darkness, I'm anger, I'm pain I am master
.
Don't talk, don't let 'em inside your mind
Run away, run away, girl
No, no, no don't let them in your mind
.
You may stumble and you're sure to fall
Don't write in starlight
'Cause the words may come out real
Don't talk to strangers
'Cause they're only there to make you sad
Don't dream of women
'Cause they'll only bring you down
.
