rafting -- extreme & adventure - fear factor

My cousin-Izni and i took friends from Scotland (Glasgow to be exact) Gail/Fiona/Sandra to white water rafting @ Sungai Selangor (near to Selangor Dam – Kuala Kubu Bharu). Kuala Kubu Bharu is 70km north Kuala Lumpur, a pre-war town with unique buildings - final town on the way up to Fraser's Hill. Nice place to live, i must say.
.
Izni (blogroll) is invloved in outdoor adventures – team building, jungle tracking, mountain biking, water rafting (and all the ings at the back) for individuals, groups, schools, universities, association, alumni, family and corporate. Interested, please call/email him or visit his squidoo HERE @ http://www.squidoo.com/White-water-Rafting-Outdoor-Adventure-from-Kuala-Lumpur @ http://www.squidoo.com/raftingselangor
.
For our info, Selangor River rapid is Grade 4 rapid (in terms of difficulty) as compared to Kampar rapid (Grade 1 – easy - for family) and Banding-Chenderoh Dam rapid (Grade 6 - damn extreme). Izni also covers Slim River (Grade 4)
CORE Management Team - Surin, Ros (in pink) and Izni (cap). Don't play-play with Ros - Grade 6 rafter woo...

The company employs 25 orang Asli (native tribes from suku Jakun & Temuan) -- who can run/jump over the rocks and rapids and pull the raft out of heavy stream/rapid -- oh, their playground what... Other than Jakun and Temuan (mostly located in Selangor) we also have Senoi, Temiar and Sakai (Peninsular Malaysia). Orang Asli have their own radio channel - Radio Asyik (click here >>> http://www.orangasli.co.cc/). Stay tuned OK!

CREW @ Kuala Kubu Bharu Post Office.

Final Safety Briefing
A bridge connecting Kuala Kubu Bharu to uphill Fraser's Hill. Here, used to have a bangee-jumping platform, for us to jump 200-300 ft above rapid (under the bridge). But don't know la... you know la Malaysians - merempit depa OK la, but not bungee jumping (agaknya...).

.
(Dulu, lama dulu, masa aktif dengan Kelab Sukan (sports club), i proposed that the staff/management to go for parachuting (seriously!!) and shooting. Semua orang tak mahu...takut-takut payung terjun tak bukak...)
Crew practical training & Safety Briefing.

Edible fruits - ni ke Cerepu?

Take-Off.

All photos (so-called bird-eye view/satellite view/helicopter view) were taken from the bridge (pic above) - for the first 1 km journey. So no wonder the bungee-jumper will kecut teloq moment before jumping down to the rapid ha ha ha.
(For Gail/Sandra/Fiona should you read this - direct English translation for kecut teloq is SHRUNKEN EGG)

Raft tersangkut, lambat tukar strategi -- air sudah masuk/tenggelam, rafter kena lari naik batu besar tu...

Untuk makluman, alat mengepam raft.

Gail, Fiona and Sandra, during lunch after completing Sungai Selangor rafting. They used to raft @ Scotland but the water there is much colder. They are professional rafters – why – normally the session (from the time you jump to the raft until you reach base camp it will take 2 - 2 1/2 hours) but they did it in 1 hour 30 minutes.
Hope you enjoy your the rafting & your stay here in Malaysia.
.
Bro Izni, why don't we offer "HONEYMOON" package to those who just got married or those celebrating anniversary. The raft so be like the one below ha ha ha. Surin sure OK punya... Amacam, berani????

(note: TV3 Majalah 3 on Saturday night did coverage on Kuala Kubu Bharu & Ampang Pecah -- the town history/mistery. To view, click HERE (part 3) -- tak sangka KKB pun pernah berlaku banjir besar sehingga karam Kuala Kubu lama)
