First ever F1 at Night @ Singapore 1st GP
Renault’s Fernando Alonso scored a surprise success in one of the most eagerly anticipated Grand Prix in Formula One history under the lights of Singapore on Sunday. And he owed much of it to team mate Nelson Piquet, whose crash on the 14th lap changed the face of the race.Williams' Nico Rosberg finished a career-best second, despite a stop-go penalty, with third going to championship leader Lewis Hamilton, whose main title rivals all failed to score...

Alonso Wins In The NightSINGAPORE, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Fernando Alonso won the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix against all odds, but who is to deny the 27-year-old Spaniard his moment of glory under the lights. The two-time former World champion took the chequered flag in the 61-lap race which will go down into the history of Formula 1 as the first race to be held in the night under the glare of the floodlights. But for Alonso, the world champion in 2005 and 2006, it doesn't really matter as he took his Renault across the bumps and the many turns of the 5.067km street circuit to come home in a total time of 1hr: 57 mins 16.30secs with William's Nico Rosberg second and world championship leader Lewis Hamilton in a McClaren coming home third.Pre-race favourite Felippe Massa of Brazil, who was in pole position, faded away after leading for 17 laps, no thanks to a disastrous refuelling pit stop which saw him speed away with the gasoline hose still stuck to his Ferrari.By the time the damage was repaired, Massa had lost precious seconds and the lead. Worse was to come as his teammate Kimi Raikkonen, who started third on the grid, crashed into the barrier with three laps to go. And in the midst of all the mayhem which included Nelson Piquet's Renault crashing into the barrier midway in the race, Alonso took advantage of the situation to steer his Renault for his 20th victory in his career and his first in the 2008 season."I just cannot believe it (the win). It will take a few more days for the feeling to sink in and realise how we won. For now, it's an unbelievable feeling to stand tall on the podium for the first time this season."Maybe I was lucky tonight. But I was unlucky in the past two days, especially in the qualifying session. So I had my moments and others had theirs," said Alonso. For Hamilton, finishing third tonight meant his lead in the championship standing has taken a boost as he leads the table with a seven-point advantage over second-placed Massa.Hamilton is on 84 after 15 races with three more - Japan, Shanghai and Brazil - to come.-- BERNAMA

Ponder. Singapore Circuit vs Sepang F1 Circuit. How much we invested to stage F1 in Sepang? Ours really GRAND (prix)? What Singapore did -- just turn the busy street into F1 approved track. So, baguih ke tak baguih...?

Ramadhan (19) -- menjadi IMAM
.
---
---
---
---

Melamine & Milk Based Products From China
Supermarkets To Be Screened For China Milk Based Products
BENTONG, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said checks will be made on supermarkets and shops to screen for milk based products from China."Whether it is purely milk, or any kind of food like cookies which contain dairy milk from China will be checked and samples taken for the Chemistry Department to analyse."Cooperation from the wholesalers, consumers and related parties are needed. We are very concerned about the health of consumers and do not want it to cost lives," he said after giving Aidilfitri aid to the poor here Tuesday. No time frame was given for the checks to be conducted.Liow said the checks were necessary as Singapore health authorities had found melamine in "White Rabbit Creamy Candy".He said the government would not compromise and would seize milk based products from China to protect children from products tainted with melamine.Melamine is an industrial material used in the manufacturing of plastic and fertiliser.Rich in nitrogen, it could raise the protein level when mixed with milk. It is prohibited in food production.

Israeli PM Resigned
Agence France-Presse - 9/21/2008 8:45 AM GMT
Israel's Olmert resigns amid lingering turmoil
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced his resignation on Sunday, but the political uncertainty gripping Israel and casting a shadow over US-backed Middle East peace talks is far from over.
"I have decided to end my functions as prime minister of the government of Israel," Olmert told a weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, days after Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni was elected leader of their centrist Kadima party.
"I hope that Tzipi Livni will succeed in forming a national government with the composition she wants," Olmert said in remarks broadcast on television. "For my part I will help her with all my strength."
Olmert must still submit his resignation to President Shimon Peres, who will grant Livni 42 days to form a new government and avert snap general elections, which polls indicate would bring the right-wing Likud party to power.
Olmert is meanwhile likely to stay on as interim premier until a new government is sworn in, which could take several months.
The Kadima leadership result confirms Livni's meteoric rise to become the most powerful woman in Israel and could now see her follow in the footsteps of Golda Meir, the country's first woman prime minister.
The turmoil unleashed by several graft allegations dogging Olmert threatens to derail already sluggish US-backed peace talks with the Palestinians that were relaunched last November but have made little tangible progress since.
Olmert has been battling a wave of corruption allegations for several months, and on July 30 he said he would step down once a new leader was chosen in the unprecedented party vote.
As foreign minister, Livni has led negotiations with the Palestinians, which were formally relaunched 10 months ago with the stated goal of ending the decades-old conflict by the end of the year.
But the two sides remain deeply divided on core issues, including final borders, Jewish settlements in the West Bank, the future status of Jerusalem and the fate of some 4.6 million Palestinian refugees.
The negotiations could complicate Livni's efforts to form a new coalition, with the ultra-Orthodox Shas Party -- a key partner in Olmert's administration -- having vowed to quit the government if Jerusalem is even discussed.
Shas leader Eli Yishai also called for a big rise in family grants, something Livni has up to now rejected.
The Palestinians want mostly-Arab east Jerusalem, which Israel seized in the 1967 Six Day War, as the capital of their future state.
Israel, however, considers the entire city to be its "eternal, undivided" capital, a claim not recognised by the international community.

Israeli Protesters Demand That Prime Minister Resign
Washington Post Foreign Service Friday, May 4, 2007TEL AVIV, May 3 -- Tens of thousands of Israelis assembled Thursday in Rabin Square, the customary venue for this country's public soul-searching, to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert over his alleged mismanagement of the war in Lebanon last summer.
But the crowd appeared smaller than organizers had predicted, highlighting the sense of complacency that many of Olmert's sharpest critics contend has swept Israel during a time of prosperity at home and enduring threats abroad.
Tens of thousands of Israelis pack Tel Aviv's Rabin Square to call for Ehud Olmert to step down over his handling of the war with Lebanon. Judging by past rallies in the square, the crowd appeared to number slightly more than 100,000 people, about half the turnout forecast by some organizers. Effie Eitam, a lawmaker from the opposition National Union party who helped plan the event, said more than 150,000 demonstrators were on hand.
Those who gathered in the warm Mediterranean evening, many emblazoned with stickers saying "Olmert Go Home" and "Elections Now," appeared to be an accurate reflection of the religious and secular, the hawks and doves, the old and young who make up the country's diverse electorate.Details click subject

Ramadhan (14) --The Last 10 Days (poem)
Subang Jaya
19 Ramadhan 1429
5 days in a row
Extreme hot weather, low humid
The rain come and go, intermittent
Does not help much
To relief and to cool down
Subang Jaya
And this throat too
No, never think about it
10 days to go
Still have thought of throat and stomach?
No, never think about it
10 days to go
Go grab, struggle for Al-Qadr
The holiest night
The best offer from Allah
The Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful
Virtuous, superiority night
Only once in a year
And perhaps once in a lifetime
Love of Allah
More value than 83 years of good deeds and worship
Al-Qadr
Love of Allah
Bless us, grant us mercy and forgiveness
Now and forever

Khutbah Jumaat 12 Sep 08 - Susu Ibu
Firman Allah s.w.t.
(Al-Baqarah 233)

Wanita Tercantik Terakhir -- (sajak)
Terjegil mata melihat
Tergugat iman dipahat
Terjaga tidur yang lelap
Tergila akal yang waras
Terliur air mengalir
Terjilat basi di bibir
Terpaku hati yang satu
Terhenti jantung berdebar
Terlupa segala ilmu
Yang berkahwin terlupa anak bini
Yang bujang cuba menonjol diri
Yang duda lagilah hiba
Penangan wanita terakhir ini
Isteri menjadi gusar; mulai berseksi
Semua wanita kelam kabut bersolek
Yang janda mencuba semula; bertapa
Cemburu dengan wanita terakhir ini
Semua wanita
Semua wanita
Dan
Inilah wanita tercantik terakhir

Abdullah Expresses Surprise Over Muhyiddin's Statement On Transition Plan
PUTRAJAYA, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today expressed surprise over a statement by Umno vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that his transition plan to step down in June 2010 was too long. Abdullah, who is also Umno president, said the Cabinet understood and agreed with the transition plan and the Umno Supreme Council had also agreed to it."I'm surprised that a member of my Cabinet should come up with that kind of statement. It is against what has been agreed to," he told reporters after chairing the 20th MSC Malaysia Implementation Council Meeting at his office here. Abdullah was asked to comment on the statement yesterday in Singapore by Muhyiddin, who is also International Trade and Industry Minister, that the transition plan had "sunk away" and that people were not thinking about it anymore. Abdullah also said he was surprised that Muhyiddin came up with such an opinion as he had agreed to that (transition plan) before. Under the plan for transition of power, Abdullah is to hand over the post of prime minister, the chairmanship of the Barisan Nasional (BN) and the presidency of Umno to his deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, in June 2010.Abdullah said: "I'm not staying on just for the pleasure. I tell you this is not work that I can regard as pleasure."The prime minister said there were many political matters and problems that had to be attended to and "lots of programmes that I have already indicated that I must do my best to complete".Abdullah said these included the reform of the judiciary and the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA)."And I still have the IPCMC (Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission); a matter to look into, the last part of the police reform. At the same time, I have promised that we would like to achieve eradication of hardcore poverty."I would like to work very hard on it and, at the same time, there is a lot of work that needs to be done, to reform the Barisan Nasional (BN) and also to add more, to expand the (BN's) capacity to serve the people," he said.Abdullah said that as for Umno, there was also a lot to be done, as well as to help his deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, to achieve the objectives of the stated programmes.Asked whether he would ask Muhyiddin to explain why he had come out with such a statement, Abdullah said: "There is no need to ask me what I'm going to do."On former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's decision to rejoin Umno, he said the subject was not discussed (at yesterday's meeting of the Umno Supreme Council)."My view alone is not enough ... this is a matter for the party. I cannot make a stand on this," he said. Dr Mahathir resigned from Umno on May 19.-- BERNAMA

Perdana Menteri Thailand
Samak perlu letak jawatan

Chilli Growing - Semi-Fertigation
pic-family homestay (not mine la...)o
ok, look at this project. growing chilli using semi-fertigation system (no green house, not so semi actually). many people enjoy working with their hands, gain tremendous satisfaction, learn/explore themselves from A slowly to Z.
of course, there is no limit to the creativity and to the inventiveness of the "budget" owner -- you've to think and try anything that you think will work. anything possible. but please be prepared earliest possible. don't wait for the storm/heavy rain to come. green house (apart from its main objectives) can also hold the plants using overhead cable (sadly, green house (GH) is costly). for those who run the project without GH, you may save/gain one thing, but it will inflict long term loss ie fertilizer, maintenance, disease/pest/problem.
and when come to the diseases -- you've to consult the expert -- no way you can try to solve it slowly/gently -- finish lorr....no choice. yes, though the (chilli) selling price is good throughout the season but beware of main culprits - fungus attacks, aphids, red spider mite - common problems for chilli. watchout also for nutrient deficiency. fertiliser is main important ingredient in fertigation/hydroponic system. and, don't forget to fence your plot, just to avoid fighting with your mother's pets -- ayam, lembu, itik, angsa and kucing. letih woo...
ini penyakit kerinting & mozek, kalau ada orang yang boleh bikin itu racun, sudah confirm boleh jadi jutawan. at the moment, the best cure to these problems is -- cabut & bakaq/buang...
and it is our hope, the so-called "agriculture visit" by BIG TEAM of MP (49 or 52?) to Taiwan can bring tremendous improvement to our agriculture industry and business -- i just wanna to find out from them - -- apa baik punya ubat mau kasi tackle problem cili -- kerinting/mozek.... kawan dapat ilmu ni, cukup la...
