...LASIK, anyone?

LASIK, not LASTIK ok...

LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is a procedure/surgery meant to correct vision problems.

i read with much interest about LASIK in today's Mingguan Utusan (HERE). for those of you wearing specs or contact lens with power more than 300, my advice you better opt for LASIK. first, make sure their (eyes) power is stable for at least 2-3 years, no diabetes and of course - got money in both pockets (other than you must have eyes). yes, LASIK is the most preferred with great success for you yang dah fed-up/hate wearing glasses.

(one of the reasons i quit playing rugby was due to eyesight problem (you can't really play good rugby with spec/lens bro...). Without "eyes", you can't catch the ball properly, always fumble and tend to lose the ball. and the coach/teammates cursed you like hell. and before they kick you butt, better for you to quit la...)

i did my LASIK for both eyes in 2004 (lupa date...but it was sometime in May/June - still remember my x-boss asked me to go for a biz trip to India, in which i asked for replacement).

the lasik procedure was so simple. first, i went to see the (LASIK) doctor, asked for advice. detailed check-up for both eyes especially the thickness of the cornea (kalau nipis - maaf, tak boleh). So, Alhamdulillah my eyes suitable OK for LASIK procedure. Then, block/book for operation day (my case - 2 weeks after that). You must make sure body/health condition is perfect for the D day.

The LASIK took about 15 minutes - 7 minutes for each. (during the procedure, a laser countours the cornea). Best....relax je...you will listen the laser doing the job - reshaping your eye lens. WARNING!!! Don't move your head during LASIK ops, otherwise the laser will shoot at your nose or forehead... ohhh stupid act ha ha ha

it took almost two weeks to heal completely (my case la, orang lain ada yang satu minggu je...) but to be frank, it didn't limit my daily activities/schedule/work/life. but for better result, don't swim/sunbathe for a month or two. during the period you must put drops in your eyes (supaya mata tak kering).

The LASIK cost then was RM3,400 for both eyes. And in today's paper the cost dah jadi RM6K to RM12K... buat duit betui...

(...oh ye..the funny thing is that the doctor that LASIK me is still wearing specs, nak wat camana kannnn...)
